1. Introduction
1.1 Background
In order to facilitate the interaction among the Chinese students and scholars in the Netherlands and promote badminton activities, the Groningen, Enschede and Utrecht branches of Association of Chinese Students and Scholars in the Netherlands (ACSSNL) is going to hold a national competition in Utrecht for all Chinese students and scholars in the Netherlands. The competition is based on the Rotterdam four-city match, Groningen invitation match, Amsterdam ten-city invitation match in 2007. It will be a magnificent event for all Chinese students in the Netherlands.
This is the first time that three branches cooperate to hold the national event. We would like to provide Chinese students an opportunity to communicate with each other at a sporting occasion. Besides, we do believe that such event will bridge ACSSNL and Chinese students in the Netherlands, attracting more and more attention to the ACSSNL future activities.
1.2 Introduction
We have learnt a lot from the Amsterdam ten-city invitation match which was successfully held in Nov, 2007. On the basis of that, we have made some improvements. First of all, we have published the official website ( www.acssg.nl/badminton ) to introduce the preparation of the competition and made a video for recruiting. Secondly, we have invited some Dutch media to help us propagandize the competition, such as Volkkrant and Dagblad. Thirdly, on the basis of the ten-city match, we have added some ranking matches to ensure that every participant enjoys the game. In addition, we are going to use this opportunity to standardize the preparations for future ACSSNL sports activities.
